About Us

Loyola on the Potomac is a Retreat House (in the Roman Catholic tradition) founded by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) in 1958 to serve the greater Washington DC area. It is built on a bluff overlooking the Potomac River and is surrounded by 235 acres of rolling woodland. The retreat house itself is air-conditioned, with 2 Chapels, comfortable lounges and sitting rooms and 70 individual bedrooms (each with a half bath). In addition we have one (1) large conference room and six (6) small meeting rooms.  We offer: Directed Retreats, Private Retreats, Days of Prayer, Weekend Ignatian Retreats, Special Ignatian Retreats, School Retreats & Group Retreats.

Loyola also has a small fitness room, bookstore, and hiking trails for our retreatants to enjoy and utilize.  There are two outdoor Stations of the Cross pathways for prayer on the property.  Internet access is available in our main retreat house.

Write about what you know, forget all the unknown
This tip is similar to the previous one. IELTS is an international exam (as evidenced by the first letter I from the abbreviation IELTS). It contains questions that any inhabitant of the planet can answer, for example https://essayyoda.com/custom-service/. Some students worry about choosing the right words, and in vain. The required expressions are usually simple (for example, “I disagree”, “This is not a good idea”).

The right decision will be, first of all, to reflect on things already known to you, from personal experience. If you carefully read the question, you will see that this is what you are asked for. If you come from Bonn write about Bonn, if you come from Ulan Bator, describe Ulan Bator!
